SPEAKER_00Welcome to On the Way. This is Tony Crisp and this is Podcast 1414. Today I'm going to be introducing to you what I'm going to be doing for the next seven days. That's right, the next seven days. This will be an unusual occurrence for On the Way Podcast. Tomorrow is Friday, and I'm going to be starting a series of seven. That is on Friday, on Saturday, on Sunday, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the next seven days starting tomorrow, I'm going to be going through the last days, the last week of Jesus, starting with his arrival on Friday in Bethany and everything that happened during the days leading up to his crucifixion. And then on Friday week, one week from tomorrow, I'm going to not have a podcast at all. That is Good Friday. We have a service at the church where I serve as senior pastor, and it is going to be a day of preparation for me, for my heart, as I get ready to preach on Easter Sunday, and we remember all that Jesus did for us. But I want to give you kind of a preview of where we're going. Tomorrow will be Nisan 8 during the week that Jesus died. It is on a Friday. Remember, the evening and the morning were the first day, the second day, the third day, the fourth day, the fifth day, the sixth day, and the seventh day. And so the Jewish day begins in the evening. And it ends the following evening. So we're going to follow that pattern through the scriptures. And so we're going to welcome Jesus to Bethany and to Jerusalem. The next day on Saturday, day after tomorrow, we're going to look at the Shabbat and how Jesus would have spent that, as there are no events recorded on that day that Jesus participated in. It was Shabbat. It was the calm before the storm of crucifixion week. And then day three will be the tenth. That's Palm Sunday. And we're going to talk about the palm branches and the shouts and all that took place that day. But we're also going to look at it from a Jewish perspective. That's the tenth of Nisan. That is the time when the lambs were inspected, they were set aside, they were chosen. And so it was called the day of the presentation of the lambs. And we're going to look at Jesus as the Lamb of God. And then on Monday, we're going to look at the cleansing of the temple. That was the eleventh of Nisan. That was day four in our week. And we're going to look at cursing of the fig tree when the confrontation with the Pharisees and the Sadducees began to take place in earnest. And they began to plot in earnest to take the life of Jesus and do it in a way that would not bring attention to them. Then on Tuesday, Jesus gives the what we call the Olivet discourses, and we're going to look at those scriptures together, and how Jesus talked about the judgment that was coming, about how he was going to return to earth after his death, and the judgment that would come to the nations and all of those who reject him. And then Nisan thirteen, that would be on a Wednesday, and we're going to see how Judas plotted against Jesus and agreed to sell him for thirty pieces of silver. And we'll talk about that in the day of preparation. And then on the 14th, on Thursday, we will look at the Passover Seder, how they did it, what it was all about, those kinds of things in a summary fashion. And then I will take off on Friday and I will be back on Monday, April the 6th. So you're going to miss one day, but you're going to get two extra. Normally I do not broadcast on the way on Saturday and Sunday. You just have the 365 Bible reading plan for those of you who are doing that. You always get that. Every day there's going to be a podcast. If you miss one, I hope you'll go back and listen to them and it'll give you something of a chronology that many of you miss. Now, for those of you who are going to go to Israel with me, we've postponed the trip in June simply because the airlines are up in the air now. As a matter of fact, just today, Delta announced that they will not fly again until the end of September, after the 15th of September. I have a trip that is the greatest Israel trip I've ever taken. It's going to be 14 days. We're leaving on Monday, October the 26th. We're coming back on the 6th or 7th of November, and it's all Israel. We are going from the Lebanese-Syrian border all the way to the Egyptian border in Israel. We are going to be on the Mediterranean coast spending one night. We're going to be three nights in the Galilee. We're going to be one night on the Dead Sea. We'll see Masada in Gedi, Qumran, and all of those places before we even go to Jerusalem, and then we will make Aliyah up to Jerusalem. And we will be in Jerusalem for five nights. We will see Shiloh. We will see Bethlehem. We'll see the Ella Valley. We'll see Beth Shemish, Samson's home. We will see all the places that you're not going to see on a normal trip to Israel. And then after we've spent five nights there, we're going to get up and we're going to make our way by way of Beersheba. We're going to see Abraham's well there. We're going to Ramon Crater. Then we're making our way to Elot. We're going to spend a day in Elot resting, studying the word. We will more than likely have an optional Red Sea cruise because we'll be staying on the shores of the Red Sea in what was called in other times Elot or Akaba, et sie on Geber in the Old Testament. Then we're going to see Timnah. We're going to see the Arevan, all of the places that uh most people that come twenty times to Israel will never see the sites that we're going to see. We'll be able to study the whole way. I'll be teaching at every major site. We're going to take as many as want to go. You pastors that are listening, if you want to go, then I will work with you to help you to go. If we have to take two buses, we're going to go because I this is a trip of a lifetime, truly the trip of a lifetime. I have done this throughout the years, maybe twice. And I'm talking about in 50 years. This is a trip of a lifetime. It is going to be reasonably priced. We are going to stay at wonderful hotels. This is going to be the study tour of a lifetime. For those of you who want university credit for this, we will work it out for you to get a couple of courses in in just this one trip. So I want to encourage you to put it on your calendar. It's going to be a great time. But don't miss the next seven days. Because starting Friday, we're going to count down the days. And many of you have always wondered about that. Now, the reason I brought up the trip to Jerusalem is because when we're in Jerusalem next October, I will teach this from the Mount of Olives. And you will be able to see it where it all happened. Bethany will be behind us. And everything else will be in front of us, including the way that Jesus would have come over from Bethany and made that triumphal entry. We will be able to see where the sheep gate is. We'll be able to see where the temple, Mount Moriah, where it stood. We're going to see it all, and we'll be right there. And of course, we will spend time all around the environs of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. We'll go north into Samaria. We may have a surprise or two in Samaria. I would say probably not more than two percent of those who go to Israel and have been to Israel in the last 50 years have been to the site that if God will work it out, we're going to go see while we are near Shiloh. So I hope you'll get ready to come. For those of you who are free in May, May the 15th, we are leaving actually the 14th to go to Greece and do the journeys of Paul, and I'm going to teach the entire book of Revelation from Ephesus over to Patmos. We're going to see Crete, Santorini, all of those places, and go all over Greece. And we have had two slots, maybe four open up, but two slots for sure that's opened up, so there's still time. You can contact me at DRCrisp, Dr.Crisp, at TonyCrisp.org, and say I'm interested in going, and there's still time for you to sign up because the slots are already there. Well, God bless you as you walk on the way. This is going to be a monumental week in front of us. And may Jesus be precious to you because He is precious to those of us who believe. We're on the way. This is Tony Crisp.
